As a kid if one of your favourite things to say wasn’t “Turtle Power” or “Cowabunga” then you were probably living under a rock. I love that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have made a resurgence so that our kids can love them just as much as we did. There is something about a pizza loving overgrown turtle with attitude!

One of the coolest pieces of TMNT merchandise on the market is the TMNT Battroborg Electronic Battle Game. TOMY sent me a Leonardo vs Raphael game to review so I enlisted the help of my nephew (8) and niece (4). I suspect Mr 8 will have more fun playing with his friends than his little sister. She was a bit young for the game¬†which is designed for 6+ and it was a bit challenging explaining ‘the rules’ to her. Props to her though for some imaginative ideas…

The great thing about the Battroborg battle game is that there are a few ways to play. I remember as a kid that you would quickly get board of games with just one mode of play but Battroborg has 3 modes. My favourite is the ‘Sewer Cap Slash’. There are two 2-player modes and one 1-player mode or ‘training mode’ for honing those skills!

The feedback from my nephew is that he absolutely loves the game. It took us a while to set it all up and work out what we were doing but I suspect that was due to Miss 4 trying to put her spin on the game! I could see hubby in the background itching to play while the kids were battling so it is the perfect game for all kids, big and little.

Battroborg Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is available at Big W, Myer, Target, Toys R’ Us, Toyworld and¬†national independent toy retailers. RRP $99.95. Visit: for details.
