I have been running Kid Magazine since September 2011 and in that time I have learnt a lot about business and the tools that work for me. I have made mistakes (who hasn’t?!?) and have learnt from these to get my business to where it is today. There are a number of business resources and tools I rely on for my success and I have shared these below. I will add to the list as I go along so stay tuned!

For bloggers who want to step up their blog and start working with brands, Brandilicious is a fabulous course from Louisa Claire. Louisa runs the brand/blogger agency, Brand Meets Blog. Brandilicious provides you with tools and templates to pitch to brands and PR companies to start earning money from your blog. The Facecbook group is full of other bloggers who have done the course to bounce ideas off and share media kits etc. Before doing the course I did a 1:1 skype coaching session with Louisa and it was so valuable so consider the upgrade which includes a session with Louisa in the price.

Membership to the Ausmumpreneur Community gives you access to discounted advertising, conferences and training as well as a free directory listing. For me I get the most value from the Facebook groups of other mums in business who are there to genuinely support each other. The group is a great way to build networks and ask for support.

Dream Big Community

This is another women in business community I belong to but Dream Big is open to all female entrepreneurs. There are free monthly webinars for members, discounted advertising in ROOOAR Magazine and again a fabulous Facebook group of women who have a wealth of knowledge to share and have lots of fun along the way!

Lucky Bitch Bootcamp

If you need to get your money mindset sorted then Denise Duffield-Thomas is your women. I signed up to her Lucky Bitch Bootcamp earlier in the year and it helped me uncover lots of money blocks that I was struggling with and inhibiting me in my business success. Once again, the Facebook group is full of women (and men) who have completed the course and are seeing success from using the tools Denise provides. Denise also has some fantastic free training including a free pricing course to help you with your pricing.

Creative Market

If you do any kind of design work in your business, Creative Market is a really affordable option for finding unique fonts, vector artwork, templates and more. You can find resume templates, website templates, clip art, photography etc. Each week there are six free items available for download and I’ve picked up a few great gems here too. I highly recommend joining this even if you just get the freebies each week!

Secret Bloggers Business

I completed the Secret Bloggers Business MBA last year and then again this year. It is a great self-paced online course for beginner bloggers and experienced bloggers alike. Kate McKibbin has seen so much success in her years of blogging and lays it all out for you. The Facebook group you have access to when you sign up for the course is also a fantastic tool for connecting with other bloggers.

I use SiteGround for my web hosting and have found them to be very responsive whenever an issue has come up. I have used the live chat, phone support and submitted tickets for more complex issues. The response time has never been more than about 15 minutes. They also often have deals on hosting to save you $$ and were very helpful in transferring my website across from my old server.

Google apps for work

Upgrading to Google apps for work was something I did a few months ago to make it easier for me to manage my email from wherever I am. I have the Gmail app on my phone and use the Gmail web interface on my desktop and laptop. It has made life so much easier and helps me manage my inbox. It is also easy to manage multiple users if you have people working for you.
