Pre-baby, a weekend away can be organised at a moments notice. Jump in the car, book while you are on the way and just take the bare essentials. Post-baby, a weekend away needs meticulous planning. Departure time is determined by baby’s sleep and feeding times, hotel websites are scoured for their baby friendliness and you feel like you have packed every baby item you own.
QT Sydney has come up with an ingenious package to help time poor and exhausted mums and dads have a couple of nights away minus some of the worries associated with travelling with baby. The package includes two nights in a gorgeous QT King Deluxe room, a bottle of French on arrival, breakfast daily, SpaQ treatments for both mum and dad, designer baby cot plus linen and a ‘iiamo’ go designer baby bottle to keep.
I was lucky enough to spend a night at QT Sydney with my husband and daughter to give the BabyQ Package a test run. Set in the beautiful historic Gowings and State Theatre buildings on the corner of George and Market Streets, QT Sydney is one of the funkiest hotels I have stayed in. The staff were super friendly and very accommodating of two new parents trying to navigate their way around with a pram. The room itself was gorgeous with a bed that was like sleeping in the clouds and a bathtub fit for a queen.
The SpaQ treatment deserves a blog post of its own really. All the aches and pains of my tired body were cast off at the hands of my SpaQ angel. I honestly have not been that relaxed in a long time and drifted back to our room in a state of total and utter relaxation. Hubby isn’t one for a massage so was able to take advantage of the in house Barber Shop for a much needed haircut and shave.
Given the location of QT Sydney, right in the middle of the Sydney CBD shopping, I was able to have a nice stroll around the shops while hubby watched over our sleeping baby. Speaking of a sleeping baby, I was apprehensive about taking Olivia to sleep at the hotel fearing that none of us would get any sleep. She is an awesome sleeper at home (sorry for the shameless bragging) and it turns out she slept just as well, if not better at QT Sydney. I believe that the sleep environment makes a big difference into how we all sleep so I’m sure that having the gorgeous Oleander cot and beautiful linen helped Olivia make it through the night. A quick nap in the big bed with mummy and daddy in the morning was also a treat for her!
Whether you are a Sydney local looking for an easy getaway or planning a trip to Sydney with bubs, QT Sydney is the ideal destination. The BabyQ Package starts from $380 per night. Visit the QT Sydney website for more information.
