Photo booths are a fun addition to any party but hiring them can be expensive. So if you want a photo booth on a budget the best way to achieve it is a DIY photo booth. Here’s how.
Start with a backdrop. If the party is in your house it could be a fence or a brick wall or even a sheet of fun fabric pinned up on the wall. Keep it simple so the backdrop doesn’t distract from the photos.
Next is the camera. A tripod is great but if you don’t have a tripod setting up the camera on a table will be fine – just be careful that people don’t knock it over! If you have a camera remote you can use that but you could also use an iPhone. When the earphones are plugged into the iPhone, the volume button can be used to take a photo. Easy! Another idea is to use a selfie stick or have someone designated to take photos.
When setting up make sure the light is going to be behind the camera or you are in the shade so you don’t need to worry about light.
Finally, and this is the fun part, you need some props. I’ve picked my favourites from Etsy below but you could use hats and glasses and scarves from the dress up box or draw your own.

** I love Etsy, yes I do! And that is why I joined their affiliate program. The links in this post are affiliate links but you can be assured that I spent over an hour researching the best of the best and would never recommend anything that I wouldn’t buy for myself or my family. Have you ever done a DIY photo booth? Any tips?
