Finding Dory: your questions answered
This post is sponsored by Subway
On the weekend, Little Miss and I were lucky enough to attend an advanced screening of Finding Dory and I have to say it was a pretty awesome movie. We were there as guests of Subway to find out more about their KidsPak meals. Food and films – two of my favourite things!
I posted on social media about our exclusive preview and there were a few questions being asked about the movie. So without giving too much away I’ve popped some Finding Dory FAQs together for you. Make sure you read to the end as we also have a fabulous giveaway for you!
Does the movie live up to the hype?
YES! When Finding Nemo came out I was only a 19-year-old University student but I still remember watching it when it hit DVD. Or perhaps it was VCR? #old! Little Miss hadn’t watched Finding Nemo until it was conveniently on TV the night before the screening so there wasn’t too much hype in our house. But it is such an awesome movie. If you are excited about seeing it because your kids (or you!) are big Nemo fans then you won’t be disappointed.
Is Finding Dory scary?
It isn’t scary in a “my child is going to have nightmares for the next six weeks” way but it does, as any good movie should, have moments of heightened suspense or anticipation. Nothing overly scary or troublesome for kids of any age. My 2.5-year-old happily watched the whole thing without any fear.
What age is it suitable for?
I would say any age from three is the perfect age. Little Miss 2.5 was fine until about 20 minutes before the end of the film but she has been talking about Dory excitedly for the last couple of days. If you are looking for a nice date night movie it’s also a good choice – it is quite emotional (happy emotional that is) with many of the mums in the cinema shedding a tear so a good opportunity to snuggle up to your date!
Is the 3D worth it?
I’m not usually a fan of 3D but it was so worth it seeing Finding Dory in 3D. The characters just pop out of the screen and it made the whole experience so much more fun. Having said that, Miss 2.5 wouldn’t keep her glasses on so she watched a blurry version of the movie, not that she complained, so keep it in mind for younger children.
Does Nemo make an appearance?
He is so little and cute, and wise for his age and yes he is a main character in Finding Dory. Along with some new super adorable friends, like my personal favourite Hank the Octopus. In true Disney style, there is a character for everyone to fall in love with.
What is a Subway KidsPak?
KidsPak is a nutritionally balanced option for kids with a four-inch mini sub, SPC Fruit Crush-Ups and 350ml Mount Franklin water. Choose from Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef or Veggie Delite for the sub. From now until 31 July, the kids will also get a Finding Dory 3D Scene Maker with every KidsPak. We snacked on the KidsPak before the movie and it was the perfect lunch to fill up a hungry tummy. Subway KidsPak is available at Subway Restaurants.
