So I made it through the first week of my new healthy lifestyle with Body Beyond Birth. I got off to a cracking start. On Monday I did my Week One video while Olivia bounced away happily and watched on from her jumparoo. Day two we went for a walk and stopped at the park for a quick swing to keep her happy. I felt great to be back into exercise and thankful that my girl was coming along for the ride.

And then on Wednesday I hit a bit of a bump in the road. Miss Olivia came down with (another!) virus so I was into survival mode looking after my bubba. This meant that I had to be a bit creative with my approach to the program this week. There were times when she would cry as soon as I put her down or when I was so tired from no sleep at night that I slept when she slept rather than doing my exercise.

Instead, I walked the house while rocking her rather than sitting or standing as I normally would. She was also happy enough in the pram so we went for more walks this week and when hubby came home from work I would quickly complete my video for that day.

It wasn’t a perfect week. No question! But I’m not going to beat myself up about it. Unfortunately as mums, that is just what happens sometimes. I found though that the beauty of Body Beyond Birth for me this week was that it doesn’t take much time to complete the exercises each day (20-30 minutes) and you can be quite creative and flexible with what you do.

In terms of progress to my goals, I lost 600g which I was happy with given the time I was able to dedicate this week. In terms of healthy cooking for the week. I had planned a few new recipes but with Olivia being sick I didn’t get the chance to try them out. BUT we did eat quite healthy this week. Lots of salad and steamed vegetables for dinner and lunch and I have been getting back into my smoothies for breakfast. I’m still a way away from fitting into my old jeans but I’m on track.

This week my challenge is a sick hubby. Wish me luck with the man flu!
