I don’t know about the weather where you are, but the weather in Sydney lately has been miserable. Lots of rain and unpredictability really. So last week I was so excited that we finally had lots of sunshine (mixed with a little rain) to get outdoors and be more active.

Each day I went walking with hubby and Olivia and the dogs were pleased to join us on a few walks too. It is so good to get out in the fresh air, clear my head and bring up the heart rate. We usually walk during the witching hour when hubby gets home from work. It makes the time go much faster and we can get straight into the dinner/bath/bedtime routine when we get home.

This was my second last week doing Body Beyond Birth but I have to say that it has helped me make positive changes that I will continue on with after I have finished the program and writing these weekly posts. In fact, I have decided that I will continue a weekly wellness post each Monday morning. Whether it is a recipe, how I am tracking with my own wellness goals or some tips I have picked up along the way. And wellness is about more than just how we look and feel on the outside. I am also talking about mental health, body image, self-confidence and everything that goes along with being a woman and a mum.

So how did I go with my goals this week? I made some delicious meals. Veal rolls with spinach and mozzarella was a hit with hubby. I often make a Mexican chicken dish we have in burrito tortillas but to reduce the carbs (and sugar!!) this time I made it into a salad with some homemade avocado salsa. It was a fresh meal and I didn’t feel sluggish after eating it. I’ve also been experimenting with smoothies in the morning and coming up with some great combos.

In terms of weight loss, I have had a few big weeks and last week was another good one with a loss of 0.6kg. I’m so close to that final end goal and can feel it in my clothes and just generally in how I feel. Stay tuned next week for my final wrap up of this fabulous program.
